Measuring pH

pH is a unit of measure which describes the degree of acidity or alkalinity of a solution on a logarithmic scale on which 7 is neutral, lower values are more acid and higher values more alkaline.

The pH sensor is supplied calibrated with a pre-set default calibration range making the sensor ready for immediate use. If required the calibration constants of an electrode can be adjusted and stored as a user calibration range for more accurate readings.

The electrode in this pack is a general purpose plastic bodied glass non-refillable electrode, suitable for most investigations.

Adaptor Ranges

This Adaptor is used in combination with a pH electrode to form the immensely popular pH sensor which is used in a lot of investigations in general science, chemistry, biology and environmental science.

The Sensor has two ranges:

  1. Default Calibration - Stored pre-set calibration suitable for most experiments
  2. User calibration – The calibration can be adjusted using either 2 or 3 buffers and stored using the Sensor Config application in the EasySense software to take into account different temperatures (above or below 25°C) or deterioration of an electrode.
