Wireless Spirometer

Bluetooth | USB | Huge Battery Life | Independent Logging

Wireless Spirometer Sensor

The Spirometer measures air flow by pressure drop across a reference flow resistance whilst the user breathes. It is portable, small, compact and needs no special gases or water.

The Spirometer Sensor comes complete with a starter pack of 4 filters, a circular mouth guard and nose clip. One filter is left fixed as a pressure divider, the other three are for use by test subjects. For educational / demonstration use. Not suitable as a diagnostic tool or for medical use.

Reliable and durable, designed for the classroom

All our sensors come with 5 years warranty and lifetime support, we ensure your investment gives you complete peace of mind.

Example Science Experiments

Here are just a few example practical ideas you can achieve by using the Wireless Spirometer Sensor.

  • Make sure the sensor is held vertically during data collection
  • Use the calibrate before any data collection to give a zero value for zero airflow (minimise any potential data drift)
  • Start data collection during an exhalation
  • Measurement of tidal volume
  • Breathing patterns before, during, and after exercise
  • Lung capacities
  • Lung efficiencies FVC, FEV1 and FEV6, MVV (also known as Forced Vital Capacity)
  • Flow volume curves
  • Slow Vital capacity (SVC): The user should breathe normally 3 times and then inhale to the maximum extent of total lung capacity and then expire to the maximum extent
  • Maximal voluntary ventilation (MVV): The user should breathe as deeply and as rapidly as possible over a period of 6 to 12 seconds
