Order No. 1200
Allowing two sequential timing events per device, Data Harvest’s Wireless Light Gate can be used individually or with others to provide an unprecedented insight into linear motion. It will convert time to speed, acceleration, acceleration due to gravity, kinetic energy, and simple harmonic motion. An external detector is also included, allowing the motion of objects bigger than the gate’s aperture to be investigated.
In addition to the varied measurement outputs, students can examine “raw timing data,” do the calculations to convert from measurements to kinetic properties.

The sensor is extremely easy to set up, reducing time – so the science comes first.
The twin light ports in each Light Gate allow time through to acceleration assessment in one device. If coupled with an additional Light Gate, sophisticated linear kinetics can be mapped over longer distances.
The raw data is available for students to understand physics from first principles.
Adaptable – the light gate can be used with other Data Harvest products, such as the Force Sensor (1120), (1500PK) Wireless Dynamics, and (1540PK) Dynamics systems, extending again the studies into the foundations of physics.
This sensor provides an ideal platform to introduce or extend the advantages of data logging, data storage and analysis.
Designed to be “hands on,” allowing students to examine experimental design and data generation.
Essential skills such as measurement conversion, error and statistics can be quickly gained. A perfect way to move from the real world to valuable universal scientific skills!
The sensor is compact, robust, and mobile to allow practical experiments.
The Wireless Smart Light Gate uses a pair of light ports (spaced 1.5 cm) to measure kinetic quantities within one device.
An auxiliary infra-red port is available for studies external to the gate’s portal.
Synchronisation socket to link to another gate is provided.
Connected to the latest EasySense software, this sensor enhances the user experience with the ability to display live data and then compare the observations.
The Smart Wireless Light Gate is USB and Bluetooth compatible. Using Bluetooth, a sensor can connect to mobile devices, tablets, laptops, and desktops.
